I’m working my eleventh show with Jamie Champion’s Prospect Fighting Championships. In addition to shooting the fights I’m photographing the promo pictures. I also did the poster designs for this event. Great to work with the PFC team again.

PFC - Kickboxing - Posters

Prospect Fighting Championships and Showdown in the Downtown have teamed up to bring you “Knockout Kidney Disease” - A night of Live kickboxing!

PFC 6 - The Action

10 Stoppages makes for a great night of fights. Prospect Fighting Championships put on a great show at the London Music Hall. The show was sold out months in advance. 135 and 265+ eliminator battles were fought and the heavyweight and featherweight belts were awarded. Shane Monaghan becomes the first 2 belt champion at 135 and 145. Avinash Chowtee scored the fastest knockout in PFC history at 9 seconds of the first round. Mr. Throwdown, Pete Trevino was in the house getting the crowd ready for all of the fights. It's always an honour to work with Pete. Special thanks to Jamie Champion for the work, this is our 7th show together.

ACE Fights - The Action

With the Ontario Athletic Commission making life difficult for people putting on professional mixed martial arts shows it is great that Ontario has such a large amateur scene. Promoters like ACE give the fighters and fans an outlet for mixed martial arts in Ontario. Last Friday 28 fighters got to test themselves in front of 100's of fans at Nashville North. Last year there were close to 25 AMMA shows in Ontario, from Windsor to Kingston and North to Sault Ste Marie. Make sure to get out and support the local promotions fighting to keep MMA alive in Ontario.

Maple City Cagefighting 4

Saturday I went down to shoot Maple City Cagefighting's 4th event. Thomas Armstrong puts on a good show and the Chatham crowd is always rowdy and ready to watch some fights. 6 fights ended in the first round making for a don't blink kind of night. It's always really easy to shoot with that kind of action.

Their next event is February 25th, 2017, already booked off in my calendar.

My First Boxing Show

September 7, 2014 - Boomerz Boxing Club puts on a Charity Boxing match for or Leukemia and Lymphoma research. It is a Charity close to the Heart of Lawrence Boom. This was my first boxing show ever for photography. I was welcomed be a lot of great people and it was interesting to go back through and see how many of the people from this event I've got to know. I enjoy the amateur boxing and I hope to keep shooting it for fun, even though the light is always challenging.

PAFC 4 - Tomorrow Night

Tomorrow night is PAFC 4 at the London Music Hall. You can't buy tickets, but you can watch the PPV. This card is stacked with 4 belts being handed out. Top to bottom exciting fights. I'm really looking forward to the fights which range from Strawweight all the way to Super Heavyweight. I was glad to be part of the team for photographing and making the event posters. In addition I did up a banner for one of the fight teams participating.

Future Combat Stars - MMA

I went down to Windsor, ON to photograph the fights at Future Combat Stars #7. It was an enthusiastic crowd in Windsor. They really seemed to know their MMA. 8 fights took place including a couple of exhibitions. There were no slow fights and everyone came to bang. Technically is was the most challenging lighting I have ever shot in. The in fight pictures were shot at ISO 5000, which is not ideal, but you soldier through. Below are a few of the good shots from the day. The event ended at 6PM and the images were done and delivered at 12 Midnight, including a 2 hour drive back to London.

Amatuer MMA Images from Maple City Cagefighting

It was a good night of fights in Chatham with Maple City Cagefighting on Saturday. There were some really fast knock outs in the first round including Tony Laramie's 0:17 destruction of his opponent. It was great seeing a lot of familiar people and Thomas Armstrong is always calm in a sea of chaos that is fight night. I'm looking forward to their next event of Nov 5th. Get you tickets!
