New Year, New Lens

New Year, New Lens. I picked up the Sigma 105mm F1.4 Art lens. I wanted a portrait lens in the 85mm - 135mm range and was looking at a lot of information. No review had anything bad to say about the 105, which is rare as a lot of the technical reviews really pick equipment apart. I tested the lens out at the gym and it performed really well, beyond my expectations. What a great lens, sharp at F1.4. The only drawback is the 3.6 pound weight, but I have a monopod for that. Once the monopod was attached it was easy to work with. It might be my favourite lens I’ve ever owned, certainly the best. I’m not usually a gear guy but this lens has me excited.

*Product pictures are from Henry’s where I purchased the lens. Go see Avan at Henry’s London South.

The tripod collar makes a world of difference.

The lens hood is a thick piece of plastic that screws into the lens.
