Rain Dance Photoshoot
I had an idea for an indoor rain photoshoot with dancers. I thought about the project for a bit and decided to build my own rain machine with my friend and fellow photographer Stephen Yule. We built the basic premise in the aisle of a Home Depot. On the day of the shoot my Fanshawe work placement students Lin Wu and Katherine Pinzon worked really hard at doing whatever job was needed. I had a great group of dancers from O’Neill Academy of Dance to test out the rig and the lighting. We got some great pictures and a lot of good memories were made.
We used back lighting to great effect on these dance images.
The front lit dance photos were good too.
Reaching for the rain

Coming from a fight photography background, I have developed my technique to capture rapidly moving subjects at high speed in front of the lens.
